A MICHELIN-Key Christmas: Festive Dining at Park Hyatt Johannesburg

ree

Park Hyatt Johannesburg, recently recognised with One MICHELIN Key and ranked among the first hotels in Africa to receive this prestigious distinction, continues to set the benchmark for refined hospitality in the city. As the festive season approaches, the hotel unveils a series of seasonal dining experiences at Room 32, its signature culinary destination, thoughtfully curated to celebrate Christmas, New Year, and the joy of coming together.

Introduced by the MICHELIN Guide in October 2025, the MICHELIN Key programme honours hotels that deliver exceptional quality, distinctive design, and elevated service. Park Hyatt Johannesburg’s One MICHELIN Key recognition reinforces its position as a property defined by character, restraint, and considered luxury.

Under the creative direction of Chef Karel Jacobs, Room 32 continues to deliver a dining experience rooted in craft, seasonality, and quiet sophistication. For the festive period, the restaurant introduces a lineup of experiences designed to honour tradition while remaining true to its contemporary culinary philosophy.

Seasonal highlights include:

  • Christmas and New Year menus, crafted with a refined, celebratory approach

  • Saturday Rendezvous Brunch, a relaxed weekend experience showcasing seasonal produce and modern technique

  • High Tea, featuring delicate pastries and savoury bites paired with bespoke tea selections

  • Family Sharing menus, created for convivial dining and meaningful moments around the table

“Our seasonal offerings are designed to bring people together around the table,” says Chef Jacobs. “Each experience reflects our commitment to flavour, craft, and creating moments that feel both personal and memorable.”

Guests dining at Room 32 can expect open-fire cooking, a carefully curated South African wine list, and an intimate setting that feels more like a private gallery of taste and design than a traditional restaurant. With just 31 rooms housed within a restored 1930s residence, Park Hyatt Johannesburg offers an experience defined by exclusivity, heritage, and timeless elegance.

“Being recognised with a MICHELIN Key reflects our commitment to excellence across every aspect of the guest journey,” says Mitch Gemmell, General Manager of Park Hyatt Johannesburg. “Room 32’s seasonal dining experiences complement this ethos, offering guests thoughtful and elevated ways to celebrate the festive season.”

Guests can explore the hotel via its official MICHELIN Guide listing and book dining experiences at Room 32 via Dineplan.
