The 18th edition of the Africa Energy Indaba, widely regarded as the continent’s most influential energy conference and exhibition, will take place from 3–5 March 2026 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC). Officially endorsed by South Africa’s Minister of Electricity and Energy, Dr Kgosientsho Ramokgopa, the event once again positions itself as a central meeting point for shaping Africa’s energy future.
At a time when the continent faces mounting pressure to balance energy access, affordability and climate commitments, the Indaba brings together policymakers, investors, utilities and industry leaders to move beyond discussion and into delivery. The 2026 programme will span renewables, grid modernisation, natural gas, nuclear energy, electric vehicles, transmission and distribution, Independent Power Producers (IPPs), Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and the just energy transition.
Africa enters this next phase of development with extraordinary potential. From renewable energy resources and critical minerals to green hydrogen and emerging power markets, the opportunity is vast. Yet persistent challenges remain, including energy security, access for millions of people, infrastructure funding gaps and the need for climate-aligned growth. Africa Energy Indaba 2026 is designed to confront these realities head-on, while highlighting practical pathways to long-term prosperity through investment, innovation and collaboration.
Key highlights for 2026 include:
High-Level Ministerial Participation: Confirmed energy ministers and senior leaders from countries including South Africa, Kenya, Ghana, Senegal, Uganda, and others will shape policy and explore cross-border collaboration.
Investment and Deal-Making Focus: Unlock bankable projects and multi-billion-dollar opportunities through B2B matchmaking, aggregated procurement models, and financing discussions with DFIs, private equity, and global investors.
