Thabile Mokalane is MOG’s Business and Lifestyle Writer, born and raised in Pretoria. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics, with a major in Economics. She currently serves as a researcher at the African Minds for Applied Research Institute (AMARI) within the Department of Economics and Development, and is an Advisory Board member at the BRICS UNISA Student Commission. She has also served as Interim Vice Chairperson/President of Rethinking Economics for Africa (REFA) UJ 2026.

With a long-term goal of becoming a macroeconomist, Thabile is passionate about merging her interest in economics with a deep compassion for people. She has developed strong writing skills through her academic journey and volunteering experience, with a focus on clarity, critical analysis, and producing well-structured, evidence-based content, particularly in economics and related fields.

Outside of her professional and academic pursuits, Thabile enjoys reading to ameliorate her vocabulary, exploring voice-over as a creative outlet, and dedicating intentional time to her faith, a weekly practice she fondly describes as a “date with Jesus” every Thursday.
