Ralph Lauren has long been synonymous with timeless elegance, and his Spring 2025 show in Bridgehampton only further cemented his status as a master of American luxury. Set against the picturesque backdrop of Khalily Stables, a sprawling 19-acre equestrian estate, the show was a perfect blend of the classic and the contemporary, drawing on the rustic charm of the Hamptons while introducing fresh, modern twists to his iconic designs.
As the sun began to set, the audience—which included First Lady Jill Biden—gathered to witness a collection that effortlessly married the understated glamour of Lauren’s past with the vibrant energy of the present. Horses trotted in the background as models showcased looks that felt both nostalgic and new, a nod to the Great Gatsby era with a dash of modern eclecticism.

Whites and blues dominated the runway, reflecting the endless blue skies and serene ocean that inspire the Hamptons lifestyle. These were paired with bursts of colour—think bright tennis whites, baby blue dresses, and vivid splashes of orange, green, and yellow. Crochet and khaki made subtle appearances, adding texture and a touch of bohemian flair, while sequined evening gowns and backless white cocktail dresses brought a bit of sparkle and glamour to the mix.

Lauren’s attention to detail was on full display, particularly in his approach to menswear. Skinny cuffed trousers were paired with blue floral dinner jackets, and colour blocking appeared in the form of orange pants teamed with navy nautical jackets. The collection also featured wide, multicoloured ties over pinstripe shirts, a playful yet sophisticated twist on classic menswear.

But it wasn’t just the adults who stole the show. Lauren’s collection for children, ranging from preschoolers to teens, was as meticulously crafted as his adult lines. From tiny prepsters in pinstripe button-downs and cropped white pants to young ones in high riding boots and blue polos, the kids were every bit as stylish as their adult counterparts. One standout look featured white shorts and a green slicker, reminiscent of the outfits worn by the ball crews at the U.S. Open, which Ralph Lauren recently sponsored.

As the evening drew to a close, guests were treated to dinner at a pop-up version of Lauren’s iconic Polo Bar restaurant, where the sense of Americana that had pervaded the runway extended into the night. Usher summed up the experience perfectly, calling it “American life. That’s American love. That’s family.”

In his show notes, Lauren described the Hamptons as “more than a place—it’s a natural world of endless blue skies, the ocean, green fields, and white fences, rusticity and elegance with a quality of light that drew artists here decades ago.” This vision was reflected in every piece of the collection, from the picnic-ready soft blue dresses to the long blush pearled skirt worn by Naomi Campbell, paired with a simple knotted white T-shirt.
