H&M Introduced A/W Collection With A Sandton Rooftop Party

When H&M hosts an event, everybody who is anybody wants to be there and the A/W Sound Lounge in Sandton proved exactly why. We were invited to experience the launch of the brand’s A/W26 collection, and from the moment we stepped onto the rooftop at Sandton City on 21 March, it was clear this was set to be a memorable evening.

Set against Johannesburg’s glowing skyline, the space felt alive with energy as fashion and music came together in a way that felt effortless and exciting. The atmosphere was carefully curated yet still relaxed, giving guests the freedom to fully take in the moment while dressed in their boldest looks.

The night’s soundtrack was led by some of South Africa’s most exciting names. Zee Nxumalo and DBN Gogo headlined the evening, bringing undeniable star power and setting the tone for a vibrant celebration. They were joined by DJs Pona & NKLY, Lelowhatsgood, MCHLSN and Deniece Marz, each adding their own flavour to a line-up that kept the crowd moving well into the night.

Beyond the music, the experience extended into playful and stylish activations. Guests explored the H&M Beauty nail bar, paused for photo moments and added a personal touch to totebags at the customisation station. It all felt in tune with the brand’s focus on individuality and self-expression. Familiar faces such as Nomalanga Shozi, Lordkez, Mikhalé Jones and Money Badoo were spotted throughout the space, each interpreting the collection in their own distinct way.

The event was open to the public through a ticket giveaway, giving fans the chance to be part of the moment. Earlier in the day, lucky customers met Zee Nxumalo and DBN Gogo in-store at H&M Sandton City, adding a more personal touch to the celebration.

The A/W26 collection itself draws inspiration from the glamour of the 70s with a nod to the rebellious spirit of the 90s. The first drop leans into late 90s Britain’s cultural shift, where creatives and style icons reshaped fashion with confidence and attitude. Expect a mix of textures, British heritage prints and versatile pieces designed for layering and mixing and matching.
