Huawei has introduced its latest addition to the wearable technology market, the Huawei Watch GT 6 Series, now officially available in South Africa. The new range refines everything that matters in a smartwatch: design, battery performance, and fitness intelligence, built for users who expect style and performance in equal measure.
For many smartwatch users, choosing between design, battery life, and functionality has often meant compromise. Huawei’s new Watch GT 6 Series changes that equation with a 21-day battery life, a Cycling Virtual Power feature for serious performance tracking, and a titanium-ceramic build that blends durability with everyday wearability.
Unveiled in Paris on September 19, the 46 mm and Pro editions deliver up to 21 days of power, while the 41 mm version offers 14 days, thanks to Huawei’s redesigned high-silicon battery, which boosts capacity by 65% compared to previous models. Beyond endurance, the GT 6 Series introduces a sharper AMOLED display, advanced health metrics, and refined materials that blur the line between luxury accessory and performance device.
Design and Craftsmanship
The Watch GT 6 Series builds on Huawei’s GT heritage with a focus on refined design and practical durability. The GT 6 Pro features a raised timing bezel and a display that is 5.5% larger than its predecessor. Materials such as sapphire glass, aviation-grade titanium alloy, and nanocrystal ceramic enhance its structural integrity while maintaining a polished aesthetic.
The series is available in 46 mm and 41 mm versions. The larger edition features cycling-inspired design elements and a three-tone gradient bezel, while the smaller model introduces a pivoting loop lug system for a comfortable fit suited to daily wear.
Performance and Fitness

Among the most notable updates is Cycling Virtual Power, a new performance metric that estimates cycling output using data such as speed, incline, and rider profile, eliminating the need for an external power meter. Developed through extensive simulations and wind, resistance modelling, the system offers power readings with near-meter accuracy. The GT 6 Series also refines tracking for trail running, golf, and skiing, offering greater precision and insight for both recreational and dedicated athletes.
Endurance and Battery Innovation
Huawei’s redesigned high-silicon stacked battery architecture extends device life by up to 65% compared to earlier models. Depending on usage, the GT 6 Pro and 46 mm variants last up to 21 days, while the 41 mm model provides up to two weeks of typical use. The longer battery life supports users who prefer consistent functionality without the need for daily recharging.
Health and Wellbeing
The introduction of Huawei’s TruSense system adds depth to health tracking capabilities, offering multi-dimensional emotion analysis and cardiovascular monitoring. The system provides insights into both physical and emotional wellbeing, including stress, sleep, and heart-rate patterns.
TruSense marks Huawei’s next leap in data-driven personal health management, aligning with a growing shift in the wearable tech space toward holistic wellness rather than pure performance tracking.
With the Watch GT 6 Series, Huawei positions the device as more than just a smartwatch, it’s built for endurance, everyday practicality, and a refined balance between high design and intelligent functionality.
