Not every creative journey starts with the perfect camera or a studio brimming with light; often, it begins with an idea and the courage to see it through. But turning that spark into a thriving creative career takes more than talent. It takes skills, strategy, and a community that understands your vision.
This Women’s Month, Sony is putting that support front and center with Alpha Femme, a three-day creative gathering designed to empower, educate, and connect women in the imaging and content creation industries.
Running from 19 to 21 September, the event blends technical mastery with entrepreneurial know-how, giving participants the tools to turn passion into profession. From lighting and photography techniques to brand building and business strategy, every session is designed to unlock skills and confidence that last long after the cameras are packed away.
Whether picking up a camera for the first time or levelling up existing skills, attendees will learn from expert-led sessions including:
Sarah, growth strategist at Stub Financial Management, with a deep dive into financial management and business for creatives, because the best ideas deserve sustainable plans.
Nelisiwe Mwase, on growing your brand on social media and standing out without selling out in a crowded content landscape.
Fathima Nakooda, sharing how she’s challenging stereotypes as a parent and creative entrepreneur, building a sustainable, strategic business that stays true to your voice and pace.

Built on the belief that skill thrives in community, Jobin Joejoe, Managing Director, Sony Middle East and Africa, said:
“We believe the future of content creation is diverse, collaborative, and deeply inspiring. Alpha Femme is our way of giving female creators a platform to grow their craft, expand their network, and learn directly from the professionals shaping tomorrow’s creative industries. Through events such as Alpha Femme, Sony is fostering a generation of creators who can not only compete, but are encouraged to experiment, explore, and evolve regardless of experience level.”
Alpha Femme is open for registration, with spaces available for the September sessions at alphauniverse-mea.com/alpha-femme.
