The Metropolitan Museum is iconic for several things - the resting place of ‘Blair Waldorf’, an exquisite exhibition of art and culture and The Met Gala. On Monday evening, the moon dazzled on the Manhattan skyline as the world’s most fashionable superstars gathered in New York to celebrate Dandyism. This year’s Met Gala theme was ‘Superfine: Tailoring Black Style’ and the dress code was ‘Tailored For You’.
Orchestrated by a team of MET curators, the MET Gala is a pre-opening to the museum's latest exhibition. Taking inspiration from Virgil Abloh and Andre Leon Talley, the focus was on black identities in fashion. There were many common influences on the blue carpet this year, from the likes of small polka dots and straight stripes to hand-crafted, bejewelled canes and linked, gold chains. Can you spot them?
