ASICS Wants Stability Running To Feel Less Restrictive With The New GT-2000 15

For runners who need a little more support from their shoes, stability has traditionally come with a compromise. The added structure can sometimes make a shoe feel heavier or more controlling, which is why the latest generation of ASICS' GT-2000 series is taking a different approach.

The new GT-2000 15 is designed around the idea that stability does not have to interfere with how naturally a runner moves. Instead, ASICS has focused on making the shoe lighter, softer and more responsive while retaining the support that has made the GT-2000 a longstanding part of its running line-up.

At the centre of that approach is the 3D GUIDANCE SYSTEM, which is designed to help keep each stride centred while adapting to the runner's movement. Rather than creating a rigid sensation underfoot, the system works through the gait cycle to provide stability while allowing transitions to feel more fluid.

Softer Underfoot, More Energy In Every Stride

The GT-2000 15 also gets a new midsole built around FF BLAST MAX cushioning, giving the shoe a softer landing while adding responsiveness to the ride. ASICS has paired this with a new forefoot trampoline pod, designed to increase the feeling of energy as the runner moves through each stride.

That combination is important because the shoe is not being positioned purely as a stability trainer. It is intended to work across everyday runs, longer distances and faster efforts, with the lighter construction making it easier to move through different paces without feeling weighed

down.

The result is a stability shoe that aims to feel more dynamic rather than simply more supportive. The 3D GUIDANCE SYSTEM, FF BLAST MAX cushioning and forefoot pod work together to give runners structure where they need it, while keeping the overall experience softer and more responsive.

Built For The Everyday Runner

That makes the GT-2000 15 particularly relevant to runners who want dependable support but don't necessarily want to feel like their footwear is dictating every movement. It continues the GT-2000's stability-focused approach while moving towards a more natural and energetic ride.

It is also part of a wider shift in performance footwear, where stability and comfort are increasingly being treated as complementary rather than competing priorities. For everyday runners, that can mean a shoe that feels supportive without requiring them to sacrifice the freedom and responsiveness they want from their training footwear.

The ASICS GT-2000 15 is now available from Sportmans Warehouse, BASH and ASICS for R3,199.99.
