Cape Town will soon play host to a new chapter in the global conversation around mental health. On 4 September 2025, the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) will welcome the inaugural Mind Matters Summit; a movement powered by Cipla in partnership with the groundbreaking Thrive by WHX event series.
More than just a summit, Mind Matters is a response to the growing need for mental resilience in a world that’s constantly switched on. With burnout reportedly affecting one in three South African employees, the timing couldn’t be more urgent. The initiative brings together neuroscience, holistic wellness and high-performance psychology in an event designed to equip professionals, entrepreneurs, and forward-thinkers with practical tools to thrive, not just survive.
The summit will host 1,500 attendees and a curated line-up of world-renowned speakers, including former Google X executive and bestselling author Mo Gawdat, neuroscientist and leadership coach Dr Tara Swart, Olympic gold medallist Tatjana Smith, and the minds behind The Human Growth Code, Christophe Fauconnier and Dr Andreea Vanacker.
At the heart of the collaboration is Cipla’s longstanding ethos of “Caring for Life.” Speaking on the partnership, Paul Miller, CEO of Cipla Africa, emphasised the need for active engagement:
“As highlighted by the World Health Organization, taking care of one’s mental and psychological well-being is critical. It’s important for people who may be feeling more stressed, depressed or anxious than usual to know that there are ways to manage this and people to turn to for support.”
“This partnership is about building a healthier, more resilient society,” Miller added. “We’re proud to stand alongside Mind Matters in leading this vital conversation.”
With a strong focus on mental agility, longevity, and unlocking human potential, the Mind Matters Summit promises to be a landmark moment for the mental wellness movement in Africa, and beyond.
Whether you’re a wellness advocate, a leader in business, or simply someone passionate about the power of the mind, this is your invitation to join a new era of thriving.
