On Valentine’s Day many women are left unsure of how to spend a day that is so often focused on romantic love. For some it is a tender reminder of loneliness and for others it is simply a day that does not feel built with them in mind. Pilates and Praise Galentine Edition on 14 February 2026 offers something different. Inspired by the love of Jesus for His daughters this event is a space where women are invited to take a breath, pull back from the noise and spend a morning honouring both body and spirit.
Created by The Confetti Connoisseur, the event reflects the belief that every experience should feel intentional and beautifully designed. Their team spends months curating the finer details of each gathering and Pilates and Praise is no different. This Valentine’s Day celebration is set to take place at The Bohemia in Benoni, a serene and picturesque venue chosen for its calming atmosphere. Tickets are available through Quicket.
A Celebration of Faith and Sisterhood
Shannon the creator of Pilates and Praise shares that her heart for this event comes from a deep place of faith. She believes that caring for the body is one of the ways we honour God and that movement can become a form of praise. For her this event is not simply a blend of worship and fitness. It is a gentle retreat for women who need a moment to reconnect with God and to be surrounded by others who share the same hope.

She chose Valentine’s Day intentionally. She knows how many women often feel overlooked on this day especially single women and single mothers who may not know how to celebrate. Pilates and Praise aims to be a Galentine style gathering where women come together as sisters in Christ to uplift one another. Shannon hopes that every woman who walks through the doors will feel, held, welcomed and reminded that she is loved. She said, “Sometimes people do not know what to do on Valentine's day, especially single women and single mothers. You see all these couples being romantic and it can make you feel alone.”
A Journey Rooted in God’s Healing
Shannon’s testimony is at the centre of her mission. Born with a hole in her heart, she grew up with yearly check ups that showed her condition worsening. As the hole grew larger surgeons eventually recommended open heart surgery with a fifty-fifty chance of survival. The night before the procedure her mother who was new in her faith fasted for the first time and prayed a bold prayer asking Jesus to heal her daughter.
The next morning everything changed. Five heart surgeons gathered in confusion as the hole in Shannon’s heart had completely closed. Her mother’s prayer was answered in a way that left the medical team baffled. The surgery forms were torn and Shannon walked out healed. She describes that moment as the day God gave her a new heart. Now at thirty nine a mother of two she feels called to bring women together through faith filled gatherings that honour what God has done in her life.
Why Pilates?
For Shannon, Pilates is a movement practice that feels gentle feminine and accessible to all women regardless of fitness level. She loves that it meets women where they are whether they are beginners or seasoned movers. Shannon said, “It is a very girlie kind of exercise that I think all women can enjoy”. Pilates encourages slow intentional engagement with the body and she sees this as a calming exercise that allows you to connect with God, spiritually how
On the day guests will enjoy a praise session followed by a one hour Pilates class led by Virgin Active. Afterwards everyone is invited to share a mini breakfast harvest table and continue building connections. Shannon hopes that the morning will create a warm sisterhood where faith and friendship naturally come together.
Who Is Invited?
The event is open to women aged twenty one and older and Shannon emphasises that even women in their sixties and beyond are welcome. She wants every woman who desires community spiritual restoration or simply a soft landing place on Valentine’s Day to feel included.
What She Hopes Women Will Take Away
Shannon said “I strengthen faith and a sisterhood with people with shared beliefs. This is also a networking event so you do not know what may come out of it.” She hopes participants leave with strengthened faith and a deeper sense of sisterhood. She also describes the event as a space for unexpected connections. You might meet a future business partner, a new friend or someone whose story mirrors your own. More than anything she wants women to walk away feeling restored, reminded of God’s love and held by a community of sisters who share the same spiritual foundation.
Pilates and Praise stands as a reminder that during tough times retreating into a spiritual space can revive the heart. Whether you are navigating loneliness, busyness, heartbreak or uncertainty this event invites you to pause and let God meet you in a space of calm movement and praise.
If you would like to join Shannon and the Curated Concepts community for this gentle Galentine celebration tickets are available on Quicket.
