Turning Passions into Professions: Eduvos Brings Future-Fit Learning to Comic Con Africa 2025

For some, gaming is just a pastime. For others, it’s a gateway to a career that blends creativity, technology, and innovation. The same can be said for robotics, AI, or cyber security; fields that, when given the right resources and opportunities, can transform from interests into world-shaping professions.

That’s the energy Eduvos is bringing to Comic Con Africa 2025. From 28 to 31 August, at the Johannesburg Expo Centre in Nasrec, one of South Africa’s leading private higher education institutions will step into Africa’s largest pop culture and gaming arena, ready to showcase how learning can be immersive, exciting, and unapologetically future-facing.

Visitors can expect dynamic activations, student-led esports tournaments, and real-time insights into how Eduvos is bridging the gap between passion and profession. Alongside showcasing its innovative qualifications, from game design and development to machine learning and cyber security, Eduvos will host two thought-provoking sessions on the Pop-Taku Stage.

On Thursday, 28 August, Dr Nyx McLean, Head of Research and Postgraduate Studies at Eduvos, will present Reshaping the Future of Higher Education with AI from 17:00 to 17:30, exploring how AI literacy is no longer optional in preparing students for the real world.

On Friday, 29 August, from 17:00 to 17:30, Dr Riaan Steenberg will join RGB Gaming’s Co-Founder Jaco Sauer and Eduvos alumnus Robert Njawaya for a panel titled Where Gaming & Education Meet, discussing the role of esports in building skills for future careers.

Eduvos’ collaboration with RGB Gaming, established in 2022, has already created esports leagues across campuses and introduced a Higher Certificate in Game Design and Development. For Jaco Sauer, competitive gaming is more than play; it’s a training ground for critical thinking, teamwork, and digital literacy.

At Stand F628 in Hall 6, Comic Con visitors can meet Eduvos’ academic teams, join the Marvel Rivals student-led tournament, and see how education can be bold, creative, and tailored for tomorrow’s careers.

Whether you’re a gamer, a tech enthusiast, or a student with your eyes on the future, Eduvos’ presence at Comic Con Africa is proof that learning doesn’t have to be traditional to be transformative.
