11 Key Trends From Copenhagen Fashion Week!!!

New York, Paris and Milan aren’t the only major cities who rule fashion week. Copenhagen style has increased in popularity in recent years. With major Scandi influencers such as Josefine Haaning Jensen, Matilda Djerf and Barbara Kristofferson promoting a chic, effortless yet fun style, Copenhagen has become all the craze.
Copenhagen Fashion Week is the fifth global fashion week after Paris, New York, Milan, and London. It is a biannual celebration and expression of fashion for Danish designers and attendees alike. From 5-9 August 2025, Copenhagen Designers showcased their Spring/Summer 2025 collection. As we are heading into Spring, let’s look at 11 key trends from the runway that will influence the Southern Hemisphere in 2025.
1. Bermuda Shorts
Bermuda shorts are slightly longer than normal shorts and are the perfect modest replacement if you want to upgrade your cheeky shorts. While jorts are certainly having a moment, Copenhagen Fashion Week showcased Bermuda shorts in an array of luxurious fabrics and we’re absolutely here for it! These shorts exude effortless style and sophistication, and can make any outfit look polished. Pair your Bermuda shorts with a plain t-shirt and some sleek boots and you will achieve a look that is more refined than with traditional long jeans.

2. Brown and Coloured Leather
Although we will still see an overflow of black and brown leather this spring, different coloured leather will elevate your look to Nordic-level. Colours varying from red, to purple, to turquoise were seen in these collections. A deep brown colour was also seen repeatedly in leather garments this fashion week. 3. Sporty Tops
Oversized racing-style tops are the ultimate must-have for every it-girl. It is the perfect cool-girl staple that goes with almost any bottom, and on colder days, you can easily layer it over a long-sleeve top for added warmth. With sporty fashion on the rise due to the Olympic Games Paris 2024, this trend is taking over and you won't want to miss out.

4. Bold Stripes
Big and bold stripes added a fun flare to the Copenhagen runway. While we’ve all embraced the classic black and white stripes for winter, this season’s stripes are stepping up with a twist. These aren’t your usual thin striped shirts, think bright colours, uniform sizes, bolder , and they leave an impression. This was mostly seen on polo-shirts, polo-dresses and jerseys on the runway, perfectly capturing the oversized, cool girl, and effortlessly chic style we all love.

5. Oversized Clutches
When you think of a clutch, you probably think of a tiny bag with no handle that you only wear to extravagant galas - this is the complete opposite. The oversized clutch is similar to a large handbag, but different in the way you carry it and has become a must-have for fashion-forward trendsetters. Celebrities like Jasmine Tookes are already embracing this chic accessory, making it the ultimate piece to elevate your style and achieve that sophisticated boss babe look. 6. 3D Textures
There were many interesting textures to see on the runway and showcases for Copenhagen Fashion Week - some more daring than others . From Rolph Ekroth’s whimsical flower-like tassels to (Di)vision’s bold statement of plush toys transformed into a coat - the variety was truly captivating. Why not experiment with some 3D textures at home? It's a playful way to personalise your outfit and make a unique fashion statement.

7. Interesting Silhouettes
The artful fabric draping was one technique that stood out to me from Copenhagen Fashion Week. It effortlessly sculpted garments into elegant silhouettes, evoking a Romanesque allure. Some designers played with draping in different directions, layering fabrics to create dynamic shapes and silhouettes for everyday pieces. This intricate interplay of drapes and straight cuts brought a sense of movement and asymmetry, adding a modern twist to classic designs.

8. Bubble Design
Speaking of interesting silhouettes, we had to dedicate a section to bubble designs. I’m sure you have already seen some bubble skirt designs in stores. But Copenhagen Fashion Week’s designers have taken it to the next level. Fashion designer Nicklas Skovgaard showcased multiple designs that included the bubble skirt, but with amplified volume and sculpted shapes, playing with curves at the top or bottom for a dramatic effect. These designs evoke the Victorian Era’s crinolines, which accentuated hips but with a thoroughly modern, non-restrictive twist. The bubble trend didn't stop there, bubble dresses and even bubble tops made bold appearances on the runway, showing the playful yet sophisticated potential of this style.

9. Denim on Denim
In the early 2000’s the idea of wearing denim on denim was almost unthinkable. . People would never be caught pairing two denim pieces in a single outfit. Fast forward to today, denim on denim is trendy and everyone wants to get their hands on a denim jacket. For a flawless all-denim look, be sure to coordinate the shades of blue for a perfectly polished look.

10. Capri’s
Capri pants, you either love them or you simply don’t. As a child I wore them frequently, but by my teenage years, my friends and I deemed them the height of fashion faux pas. Fast forward to today, and capris have made a remarkable comeback, now embodying sophistication, femininity and grace. This revived trend might take a bit of time to fully embrace but I’m eager to revisit capris and rediscover their chic potential.

11. See-Through and Mesh
Mesh is back and it’s here to stay! There were lots of mesh, lace and crochet items on the runway and they were all showing off what’s underneath. This season, sheer garments are a must-have. Pair them with layers to maintain a chic balance of modesty and flair.
