56 Thoughts I had While Watching Why did I Get Married Again
When it comes to reunions it is either a miss or hit, a node to the nostalgic audience who wish to relive the hype and feeling of the first movie, you would think that this would be the case with Tyler Perry’s third installment of Why Did I Get Married Again after getting the household hit with the first movie which was widely loved. It brought the drama, the tears and of course the laughs and he second installment of the movie was a bit emotional and reflected on the importance of community and of course there were laughs here and there. With Why Did I get Married Again we get to see how that solid foundation led to a secure community and how that created a path for the second generation which would be the children of our favourite couples.
But nostalgia can only carry a reunion so far, and that is where Why Did I Get Married Again becomes interesting. Instead of simply bringing back the couples we already know and love, the film seems to open the door to a new chapter, one where the children have grown up and the choices their parents made now shape their own lives. It gives the story a chance to explore how relationships, family and even unresolved issues can be passed down from one generation to the next, while still keeping the humour and drama that made the original films so memorable.
