BAM Collective Graphism 25/26: Ushering in a Bold New Era

ree

Graphism, BAM Collectives 2025/26 collection is promised to be far more than just a collection, it is said to be a manifesto. An unapologetic, public declaration of what the fashion brand is all about. In keeping with its name, Graphism is a daring collection, an artistic masterpiece that communicated in bold rather than italics. It's an exciting selection of designs that communicate in combining creativity and technical skills, a vivid exploration of specific iconography, shapes, and motifs that have brought BAM the international recognition that it has and brought that brand into a bold, new era.

The collection feels like something from a hallucinogenic induced fever dream. With quirky patterns; the classic checkerboard, stripes, polka dots, optic checkerboard, the clothes are fun and feel like they belong in an Alice in Wonderland mood-board. These items are for those who want to be noticed, especially, considering the striking colour palette that was used; lime, grass green, metallic pink, red poppy, sky blue, Indigo, black and white. This is not a collection where the hues gradually fade into one another as you scroll through it — each item stands proudly on its own with each colour choice being solid and highly saturated.

Structure is king when it comes to these pieces, impeccable tailoring creates angular silhouettes that compliment the materials and pattern and allow them space to shine.

The checkered trousers styled with the matching checkered shirt and  bustier, is a striking ensemble in shades of blue, featuring a high-necked top with pronounced shoulders with tailored trousers in a matching dark, indigo check pattern. The back of the trousers have a surprise, vertical strip of the lighter, sky blue check pattern running from rear. The play on proportion and repetition of geometric motifs creates a dynamic, futuristic silhouette.

The ripple striped trousers paired with the ripple shirt is an ensemble made up of a high-collared shirt and the dramatic ripple-like ruffles — that are basically Jacques Bam signature — going down the sleeve from the elbows. The sharply tailored green trousers featuring those recognisable, ripple-like ruffles are electrified by a bold, wavy stripe of lime running down one leg. It makes for an almost glitchy effect that feeds into the collection's fever dreamish vibe.

A celebration of playful pattern, the multi-dotted dress look features a crisp white bodice with oversized black polka dots, paired with a voluminous, ruffled skirt adorned miniature dots. The contrast in scale and the airy movement of the skirt perfectly embody the collection’s theme of graphic exuberance.

Jacques Bam has been passionate about fashion since childhood, pursuing his dream from the age of nine. After earning top honors in fashion design at LISOF, Jacques quickly gained recognition through industry competitions and key internships.

In 2019, he launched The BAM Collective, a brand rooted in the vibrancy of South Africa and known for its bold colors, graphic prints, and inventive silhouettes. Jacques’s approach combines technical excellence with expressive individuality, producing each piece locally and sustainably in his Centurion studio.

This season, BAM Collective has offered us a visually rich collection that leaves a lasting impression. Just when you think that they cannot possibly find new, more artistic avenues to make clothing that stands out, they just seem to put all your doubts to shame in the best possible ways. Modern, vibrant and are just some of the words that come to mind when looking at the pieces that make up Graphism. We cannot wait to see what Bam has in store for the future of the brand.
