What Colours Actually Suit You? Mall of Africa Wants to Find Out

Spring is usually the season for a wardrobe refresh, but knowing what to buy can be easier said than done. This September, Mall of Africa is giving shoppers a slightly more personal way to approach the new season with Unlock Your Style Palette, an interactive experience designed to help visitors discover the colours that complement their individual style.

Running from 4 to 13 September 2026, the experience brings together Mall of Africa’s extensive fashion offering and AI-powered colour analysis, giving shoppers the opportunity to find out which shades work best for them before browsing the latest spring and summer collections.

The experience is centred around the Digital Box, located between Doppio Zero and EL&N at Entrance 23. Shoppers can take part in a complimentary colour analysis that takes less than three minutes, after which they receive their own personalised style palette.

The idea is simple: rather than choosing colours purely because they are trending, shoppers can use their personalised palette as a starting point for experimenting with new shades, clothing, accessories and even footwear.

Find Your Personal Colour Palette

Personal colour analysis is increasingly becoming part of the way people approach their wardrobes, particularly as shoppers look beyond individual trends and towards pieces that work with their own appearance and personal style.

At Mall of Africa, the experience uses AI to identify colours that complement each shopper's complexion before creating a personalised palette. The result is intended to make the process of trying something new a little less intimidating, particularly for anyone who has ever stood in a fitting room wondering whether a particular colour actually works.

Once the analysis is complete, shoppers receive a QR code linking to Mall of Africa's website, where they can explore a curated selection of products from participating stores based on their recommended palette.

That means the experience doesn't stop at telling shoppers which colours suit them. It connects those recommendations directly to the stores and products available at the centre, making it possible to take the inspiration straight into the shopping experience.

There is no booking required, either, so the colour analysis can simply become part of a day spent browsing the centre.

There Is Also R20,000 Up for Grabs

For shoppers who need another reason to refresh their wardrobes, Unlock Your Style Palette also comes with a competition.

Anyone who spends R500 or more in a single purchase at a participating store during the campaign period can enter for a chance to win a share of R20,000 in Mall of Africa shopping vouchers. Four winners will each receive R5,000.

There are three ways to enter. Shoppers can make a qualifying purchase, follow the competition link on the Mall of Africa website and upload their till slip; scan the QR code at the Digital Box and submit their till slip; or complete a manual entry at the information desk or Digital Box while presenting their qualifying till slip.

The competition runs until 30 September 2026, giving shoppers a little longer to enter after the physical colour analysis experience ends.

A Different Way to Shop Spring

The timing of the campaign makes sense. With spring and summer collections arriving across Mall of Africa's local and international fashion retailers, shoppers are already being introduced to new colours, silhouettes and accessories for the season.

Unlock Your Style Palette simply adds another layer to that experience by putting the focus on the person wearing the clothes rather than only on what is currently trending.

For anyone curious about whether they are actually a Pistachio person, a Berry person or someone who has been wearing the wrong shade of blue for years, the Digital Box offers a fairly painless way to find out.

The Unlock Your Style Palette experience runs from 4 to 13 September 2026, from 09:00 to 20:00, at the Digital Box at Mall of Africa. The competition remains open until 30 September 2026.

Terms and conditions are available through the Mall of Africa website.
