2026 Red Carpet Trends We’re Loving So Far

We’re well into this year’s awards season, with the Critics Choice Awards and the Golden Globes already setting the tone for what 2026’s red carpets are all about. From dramatic silhouettes to rich colour stories, celebrities have made it clear that dressing up is back on the agenda. Based on what we’ve seen so far, here are the red carpet trends we fully expect to keep shining throughout the rest of the season.

1. Black

Black has firmly reclaimed its place as a red carpet power move. Simple and classic or edgy and alternative, its versatility is often underestimated. Yes, it’s a tricky colour, one wrong move and it can feel flat. However, when done right, black allows the silhouette, texture and attitude to do all the talking.

Miley Cyrus leaned into the drama at the Golden Globes, while Jenna Ortega delivered gothic romance in Dilara Findikoglu. We especially loved the high neckline and dramatic fringe detailing on the sleeves of her dress; black can still command attention.

2. Black & White

Not to sound repetitive, but celebrities are really loving black, especially when paired with white. The contrast feels classic yet fresh, particularly in tailored looks.

Heated Rivalry star, Hudson Williams stepped out in a Giorgio Armani suit featuring a sharp white blazer and black trousers, striking the perfect balance between traditional and modern. Jessie Buckley followed suit in Dior, wearing a white wrap-around top with oversized bows at the sides, paired with black trousers. Polished and oh-so chic.

3. Nude Illusions

Sheer dressing and nude illusions continue to offer us the drama without excess. Jennifer Lopez stunned at the Golden Globes in a vintage Jean-Louis Scherrer look — archival fashion will always hit harder.

Jennifer Lawrence took things in a more ethereal direction, giving us full Eve in the Garden of Eden energy in a nude illusion Givenchy gown. Floral embroidery carefully covered the essential bits, while the flowing train added a sense of romance.

4. Jewel Tones

Jewel tones have arrived on the red carpet to satisfy our colour cravings. It-girl Olandria shimmered in an emerald green, figure-hugging mermaid-style Christian Siriano gown that felt equal parts classic and sultry.

Chris Perfetti opted for sapphire blue in a Christian Cowan suit, proving bold colour works just as well in menswear. Meanwhile, Sports Illustrated model Hailey Baylee glided down the carpet in an amethyst purple Marc Bouwer ball gown and brought drama and depth to the evening.

5. Feathers

Feathers are having a moment, and not the subtle kind. Selena Gomez turned heads at the Golden Globes in a Chanel dress finished with a striking white feather trim. The detail reportedly took the Chanel atelier 323 hours to create, and it showed.

Teyana Taylor brought tailored drama to the Critics Choice Awards in a Saint Laurent suit with a black feathery, shawl-like attachment cascading down her shoulders for that extra something-something. Charli XCX also embraced the trend in Saint Laurent at the Golden Globes, while Odessa A’zion channelled dark swan energy in vintage Dolce & Gabbana, complete with feather detailing along the folded neckline.

6. Brown and Red

Men’s fashion is leaning into warmth this season, with brown and red emerging as standout shades. Seth Rogen stepped out in oxblood brown Zegna suit, while Sterling K. Brown opted for a brick red, suede blazer by Brunello Cucinelli with  black trousers and a bowtie at the Critics Choice Awards, adding texture to the trend.

Adolescence star, Owen Cooper wore a custom made chocolate brown, padded leather jacket and some trousers by Bottega Veneta. It was a look that felt youthful yet elevated. Michael B. Jordan gave us the best of both worlds: a chocolate brown Prada suit at the Golden Globes, followed by a red double-breasted Louis Vuitton suit paired with a pink shirt. Noah Schnapp also embraced the trend in a brick red suit at the Critics Choice Awards.

With award season still in full swing, one thing is clear: 2026’s red carpets are all about the little details. Whether it’s through colour, texture or silhouette, celebrities are dressing with a bit more thoughtful this year. We are preparing ourselves for a more subtle red carpet run — and we’re so here for it.
