Jetour officially launched its new T-Series SUVs, specifically the Jetour T1 and Jetour T2. One of China’s fastest-growing automotive brands is marking a major milestone in the country’s increasingly competitive SUV landscape. The launch reflects the growing influence and acceptance of Chinese automakers in South Africa. Here is all you need to know about the T-Series.
Jetour T1

The Jetour T1 offers a high-tech cabin, including a 15.6-inch infotainment screen, a 10.25-inch digital cluster, a 540-degree panoramic camera system, a normal 360-degree camera gives you a full bird’s-eye view around the car, front, back, and sides. A 540-degree camera system adds an extra 180 degrees of under-body or forward terrain view. This helps when parking, off-roading, or driving over obstacles because you can see what’s happening underneath or right in front of the bumper. Jetour also includes multiple drive modes sport, mud, sand, snow, and X-mode, allowing drivers to easily adapt to South Africa’s varied terrain. The tyre-pressure monitor system (TPMS) alerts the driver when one or more tyres lose air pressure or drop below a safe threshold.
Jetour T2

The T2 sits slightly above the T1 in size and capability, with a more rugged design and higher ground clearance. It shares the same core tech and safety features as its smaller sibling but is engineered for drivers who want a more rugged SUV without paying premium-brand prices. The T2 comes in three variants: the Aspire, Xplora, and the flagship Odyssey. Like the T1, it shares the same engine options and tech features, plus practical touches like illuminated door sills and optional spare wheel setups.
Performance
The Jetour T1 arrives as a compact but surprisingly capable SUV built for both daily city driving and weekend adventures. Customers have a choice between a 1.5-litre turbo engine (125kW) or a 2.0-litre turbo engine (180kW), paired with either 2WD or 4WD. All variants use a 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmission. Ground clearance is about 200mm, which while not a hardcore off-roader spec, gives more clearance than typical sedans and helps with speed bumps, rough roads, or uneven terrain.
The Jetour T2 comes with at least two main petrol turbo engine options, depending, however, on the variant, which affect power, drivetrain and suitability for different uses. The first variant has a 1.5-litre turbo with 125kW, offering a good balance of enough power for city driving, commuting and moderate highway work while being more fuel-efficient and easier on maintenance than the bigger 2.0-litre. The other variant has a 2.0-litre turbo and a 180-187kW this is where the T2 shines. It has strong acceleration, plenty of torque for carrying loads or towing, with the benefit of the intelligent AWD system, which provides much better capability on rough roads, off-road trails or even when road conditions are difficult.
Pricing
The Jetour T1 enters the market as an attractive value proposition compared to traditional brands offering similar functionality with pricing beginning at R514,900 and topping out around R634,900. The Jetour T2 pricing ranges from R569,900 to R679,900, keeping it firmly within reach for families, outdoor enthusiasts and young professionals looking for something modern, stylish, and capable
The T-Series brings several features that Jetour emphasises as competitive and relevant for South African buyers. The launch also comes at a time when Jetour has reported record-breaking sales in South Africa, showing that local consumers are already satisfied with the brand. Jetour is entering the market with the T-Series as a strategic value proposition, targeting cost-conscious buyers while signaling ambitions for future hybrid and advanced off-road models. The brand positions itself as a smart competitor, combining globally inspired design with features tailored to the demands of South African roads.
